
Due to the failure of a water line and the flooding of Ripley Middle School, there will be no school for students at Ripley Middle School on Friday, December 6, 2019. All other schools are in session and on regular schedule. All faculty and staff will report as usual.

23 members of the Beta Club attended the State Convention on November 23-25. Marleigh Hawks placed 3rd for Creative Writing. Also, the RMS Jr. Beta Club received the GOLD key Award. RMS was well represented. You can see the full story at https://www.lced.net/o/ripleymiddle/news

RMS has been named a Silver Level Model of Demonstration School for the 2019-2020 school year. We are 1 of just 23 schools in west Tennessee to receive this recognition. Thanks to all of our teachers and staff who continually go above and beyond to meet the needs of our students.

It's Wednesday! That means it's time for another RMS Robotics team meeting. We have four teams this year getting ready for our first ever competition. The robots are getting built then time for driving and coding for autonomous play! Go Tigers!

Teachers and Staff met with Nathan Maynard and Brad Weinstein, the authors of "Hacking School Discipline." The book is a nationwide top seller and a big hit in the education field. They offered several tips and strategies for teachers to use in the classrooms during their visit.

RMS will be hosting Three Oaks tonight with a B game starting at 5:00. Please come out and support your Tigers. Good luck to all the basketball players and cheerleaders.

Due to the threat of wintry weather late tonight, the RMS basketball game start times have been moved to 5:00 in Brighton. The JV game has been cancelled. There will be a shortened halftime and warmup before the boys game so expect the boys game to start before 6:00.

RMS students and faculty supported our veterans by marching in the Veteran's Day Parade with signs made in Ms. Heath's and Ms. Bedrick's art classes.

The Ripley Tigers basketball team will host Haywood tonight at Ripley Middle School. The girls game tips off at 6:00 and will be followed immediately by the boys. Come out and support your Tigers!

Lauderdale County Schools being recognized today at the TNPathways Recognition Event. Both Halls High and RipleyHighTN have been certified as Nursing Services Pathways.

For those who did not get to pay for Dress Down for Troops today, students will be able to pay their $3 tomorrow morning. All money will be collected during homeroom time.

The National Beta Founder’s Day committee gave the report at the 10/22 Junior Beta Meeting. Members are required to maintain a certain grade average and standard of discipline while contributing positively to their school and community. RMS is very proud of our Beta students.

Join RMS Student Council on Wednesday, November 6, as we "Dress Down for Troops", in honor of our veterans. RMS students may pay $3 to dress casually on November 6 in honor of our veterans. Funds will be collected during lunch on November 4 and 5.
All funds raised will be donated to the GI Joe Fund, a nonprofit organization that assists veterans, active duty personnel, and members of the military community with finding employment, connecting to their benefits, and accessing housing opportunities.
