RMS teachers participating in the teacher mentoring program this year enjoyed a reception in the RMS library today. Snacks were provided and administration discussed the details of the program. Mentor/ mentee partners got to know each other and discuss next steps. We are really excited for this opportunity to support our new teachers and extremely grateful to those veteran teachers who volunteered to be mentors. #RMSfamily

Multiple community leadership members met on August 12, 2022 to review and discuss school safety operations as well as strengthen the partnerships between Lauderdale County Schools and each law enforcement department. This meeting was the third held by these community leaders in an effort to ensure a consistent vision and purpose existed among all entities. Meeting attendees included school and district administration, County Mayor Maurice Gaines, City of Ripley Mayor Craig Fitzhugh, Ripley and Halls Police Department leadership, and the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, including Sheriff Elect Brian Kelley. All organizations plan to meet quarterly in our local schools to continue discussions surrounding school safety and ensure that effective and streamlined safety practices are in place. Attendees completed a walkthrough of Ripley High School at the conclusion of the meeting.
