Our 2nd 9 weeks Award Ceremony is rescheduled for Friday, January 26th. Students who will receive awards brought home notes before our snow days. The same times apply for our new date.

Superintendent Kimble recently shared updates on Lauderdale County Schools' investments in K-12 and postsecondary education at SCORE's "Building A Brighter Future" State of Education in Tennessee. Specifically, Superintendent Kimble shared information regarding HTL (Haywood, Tipton, Lauderdale) University, a one-of-a-kind innovative collaboration between the three districts to expand access to career pathways.
HTL students will be immersed in STEM and career exploration activities and programming from the first days of Kindergarten to high school graduation. HTL University will provide high school graduates with opportunities to graduate with their high school diploma PLUS their choice of industry credentials, associate or TCAT degree, course credit toward a bachelor’s degree, or a guaranteed apprenticeship. Additionally, HTL University will inform families of potential career opportunities in the area and coordinate adult learning opportunities for those who desire to complete higher education.
Mrs. Whitney's phonics classes are learning to be great readers! It was their first day with Decodable readers. They searched for familiar words and read the story to a partner.
Make plans to join HES P.T.O for their annual Breakfast with Santa! There will be donuts, a hot chocolate bar, reindeer food, a craft, and picture opportunities with Mr. & Mrs. Claus themselves. Come have a great time!

Mrs. Jill Messer and Mrs. Brandis Fullerton’s classes excelled this week in reasoning about ten as a unit to add. We counted and recorded a collection of various objects. We are loving our new math curriculum, Eureka Squared.
