Our next #LauderdaleProud feature is James Latham!
James Latham is a 2011 graduate of Ripley High School. He continued his education at Drive Train’s professional trucking program and earned his Commercial Driver License (CDL).
For the past nine years, James has worked as a truck driver. When asked about his favorite part of his career, he said that he enjoys playing a part in getting products delivered to the hands of the people who need them.
James is another reason we are #LauderdaleProud!
In celebration of Constitution Week, our local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented character monologues to our 4th and 5th grade students.

Members of Lauderdale County Schools’ Special Education department recently attended a legal conference in Franklin. Team members participated in multiple sessions focused on providing effective special education and 504 services.
Lauderdale County educators have been digging into data-informed practices and lesson preparation during weekly Professional Learning Collaboratives (PLCs). LCS educators are committed to meeting the needs of all students!
Our next #LauderdaleProud feature is Abby McBroom!
Abby McBroom is a 2006 graduate of Ripley High School. She continued her education at Union University, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Abby graduated in the top 10 of her nursing class and was selected to Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor society for the field of nursing.
Abby currently works at Sedgwick as a Complex Pharmacy Management Nurse. When asked about her favorite part of her career, Abby said:
“We all know someone who has been touched by the opioid crisis that our country faces. My job allows me to advocate for my patients and help them ensure that the medications they are prescribed are the safest for their injury. I love being able to provide patient safety through education and advocacy. Most of all, I love being able to care for others and to make a difference.”
Abby is another reason we are #LauderdaleProud!

Family/Teacher Conferences start today
Fourth grade students of Mrs. Billie Kissell set up and conducted an experiment to demonstrate cellular respiration. They used this experiment to explain what they learned from the text they are studying in Wit and Wisdom.
While implementing the new curriculum, Connect 4 Learning with Ms. Tamara Patrick, Ms. Marsha’s Pre-K class became nature spies to get an up close look at nature all around them. Some of the things we observed were tree bark, leaves, rocks, feathers, acorns, and a locust.
Ms. Barbara’s extension class went on "Consonant Hunts” in Heggerty!! They found certain consonants around the classroom! The students really enjoyed the hunts so much!
