Mr Billings 8th grade Science classes conducted tests with constant velocity cars to help determine speed and distance for the unit on Motion and Speed.

The RMS Chess Club had its first meeting on Thursday, August 15 for the 2019-2020 school year. Great games took place and fun was had by all. Meetings will change to Tuesday’s after school and meet until 4:30. Students interested in joining should get an application from Mr Billings in room 803.

RMS Before and After School LEAPs program will begin next week. There will be a brief parent meeting this Thursday, August 15, at 5:00 PM for information and applications. Parents must attend this meeting in order for their child to be considered for the program.
The RMS football game tonight has been moved to 7:00 in response to the recent heat. TSSAA policy states athletic events must cease when the heat index reaches 104. RMS admins/coaches will monitor conditions until kickoff and will always place an emphasis on player safety.
RMS students participated in our school-wide Cookie Dough Kickoff yesterday. GAO representative Ginger Bryant spoke to students about the great prizes that they can earn by participating in this fundraiser!
Students were given order packets when they returned to homeroom. Orders are due by Friday, August 23. Let's make this year's fundraiser one of our best!

After a successful first day of school for students at RMS, the RMS football and cheerleading squads headed to Brighton where the Ripley Tigers picked up a 14-6 victory over Munford. Congrats! 2019-2020 RMS registration documents are available online! Visit the "Documents" section of the RMS website to download these documents prior to Thursday's registration sessions. Registration is from 8-10AM and 4-6PM.
Congratulations to the members of the 2019-2020 RMS Volleyball team! Practice will be on Monday July 29, 2019 at 3:30PM in the RMS gym. A parent meeting will take place at the end of practice at 5:30PM.

There will be NO volleyball tryouts tomorrow, July 25. The 2019-2020 team roster will be posted soon.
REMINDER: RMS Volleyball will resume activities this week. Please note that these will take place at the RHS gym.

We're hiring! A job fair for general cleaners and custodians will be held on Saturday, June 22, at Ripley Elementary School from 10am-1:00pm.

All teachers & staff gathered today to close another school year by celebrating many accomplishments. Closing a year with a little singing and dancing seemed appropriate. I am honored to work alongside such wonderful educators. Have a great Summer! --Shawn Kimble, Superintendent
