Lauderdale County Schools is proud to announce the promotion of Kamisha Dixon to the role of Director of Student Success and Community Partnerships. This position is designed to strengthen student support systems and expand opportunities for all learners. In this role, Dixon will focus on advancing student achievement through alternative education programs, transition planning, dropout prevention initiatives, and virtual learning opportunities. She will also collaborate closely with the Director of Safety and local officials to address community concerns and external factors that impact student well-being and success. Additionally, she will work alongside families, community partners, and local businesses to enhance engagement, expand work-based learning opportunities, and improve graduation outcomes — ensuring every student is prepared for success both in school and beyond.

Mrs. Dixon is an accomplished educational leader, mentor, and advocate dedicated to student achievement and community impact. She currently serves as Principal of Ripley High School in Ripley, Tennessee, where she works to foster academic excellence, positive school culture, and meaningful opportunities for students and staff. Prior to becoming principal, she served as Assistant Principal at Ripley High School and spent nearly a decade as a middle school English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Ripley Middle School.

Ms. Dixon earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Memphis, a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Lipscomb University. 

Throughout her career, Mrs. Dixon has been recognized for her passion for education, instructional leadership, and service to others. Her honors include Ripley Middle School Teacher of the Year, Phi Beta Sigma Female Educator of the Year, the EEOG Pioneer Award, and recognition by the Town of Henning as the first African American female principal of Ripley High School. She is also a member of the WestStar 

Leadership Class of 2024.

Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Dixon is deeply committed to mentorship and community engagement. She serves as a TN Achieves Mentor, participates in several civic and educational organizations, and actively works to create opportunities that inspire students to lead with purpose and confidence. She believes in challenging students to “Reach Higher Standards” while helping them discover their purpose and potential.
