Lena Thomas-Moore

Mrs. Lena Thomas-Moore has been selected as an Assistant Principal for Ripley Middle School. Mrs. Thomas-Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Master's in Teaching and Learning from the University of Memphis. She received her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Lipscomb University in December 2019.

Since Fall 2018, Mrs. Thomas-Moore has worked in Haywood County Schools as an Assistant Principal and most recently as the Director of Secondary and Career & Technical Education. Prior to joining Haywood County, she worked at Ripley Middle School for six years as a teacher and instructional facilitator. Throughout her 15 years of experience, Mrs. Thomas-Moore has served in many capacities. She has guided administrators and teachers in the implementation of high-quality instructional materials, developed and led professional development opportunities, incorporated positive behavior initiatives for student recognition, and positively engaged with various community stakeholders. Her most recent role has allowed her to manage state accountability data and budgets.
