Our next #LauderdaleProud feature is McKenzie Heath Hilliard! McKenzie Hilliard is a 2018 graduate of Ripley High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Union University in 2022. McKenzie is currently a Cardiovascular ICU Nurse at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. Her favorite part of her career is connecting with patients and families and being a support system for them during some of the hardest moments of their lives. She also loves learning about complex heart defects and medications, as well as being challenged in the ICU setting. McKenzie is another reason for us to be #LauderdaleProud!

Our next #LauderdaleProud feature is Madison Hutcherson! Madison Hutcherson is a 2015 graduate of Halls High School. She has earned degrees from Dyersburg State Community College and Union University, including her master’s degree in Accounting. Madison has worked with Nucor Corporation since she was 19 years old. She has served as an Internal Audit Analyst and traveled all over the country to ensure financial compliance. Most recently, Madison has been promoted to Credit Supervisor at Nucor Hickman. Her favorite part of her career is working for a company that rewards hard work and talent. She feels confident that her career possibilities are endless as long as she stays focused and ambitious. Madison is another reason for us to be #LauderdaleProud!

Our next #LauderdaleProud feature is Gaston Garrett II! Gaston Garrett II is a 1992 graduate of Ripley High School. He attended the University of Mississippi and the University of Memphis and earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications. Gaston currently works for Rough Country Suspension Systems as a spokesperson, on camera talent, and marketing manager. What he enjoys most about his career is informing people about the innovative products that Rough Country has to offer. Gaston is another example of why we are #LauderdaleProud!

Our next #LauderdaleProud feature is Chris Dennis! A 2004 graduate of Halls High School, Chris Dennis has served in the United States Air Force for the last 18 years. He has completed Airman Leadership School, Non Commissioned Officer Academy, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education course, SERE Combat Survival Training course, SERE Water Survival course, and Basic Combat Convoy Course. Chris has earned his Associate’s Degree in Aircraft Structural Maintenance Technology and is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity. His favorite part of his career is mentoring the next generation of young men and women that join the world’s greatest AIRPOWER! We are #LauderdaleProud of you, Chris! Thank you for your service!

Our next #LauderdaleProud feature is Emilee Lemons Montgomery! A 2004 graduate of Ripley High School, Emilee Montgomery earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Memphis. Emilee is currently teaching at Ripley Primary School. Her favorite part of her career is teaching where she grew up and encouraging and mentoring the students who are the future of Lauderdale County. She has formed great relationships with her students during her fourteen year tenure at LCS, which has made her a better teacher and person. We are #LauderdaleProud of you, Emilee!

Our #LauderdaleProud feature is Roslyn Johnson-Craig! Roslyn Johnson-Craig graduated from Ripley High School in 1982. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis and has earned two master's degrees, one from Bethel University and one from Grand Canyon University. Roslyn is currently pursuing her Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Roslyn is currently a first grade teacher at Sheffield Elementary School in Shelby County Schools. She also serves as a mentor for new teachers and a tutoring coordinator. Roslyn’s favorite part of her career is educating and supporting the talented and brilliant minds across Sheffield. Roslyn is another reason that we are #LauderdaleProud!

R. Johnson-Craig
TSU Extension Agent Rachel Howell visited HES to provide some Ag in the Classroom activities. 6th grade learned about milk processing and TN dairy facts. Each student made butter. 3rd, 1st, and Kindergarten students learned about growing peas. Each student planted their own peas to transplant after they develop seedlings. Thank you to our master gardener volunteers Betty Ray and Carolyn Seaton for helping out!

Our next #LauderdaleProud feature is Michael Pittman! Michael Pittman graduated from Halls High School in 2013. He later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Leisure Management from the University of Memphis. Michael is a Premium Account Executive for the Memphis Grizzlies. In his role, he builds and grows new business relationships with companies in and around the Memphis area through premium seating. Michael’s favorite part of his career is the excitement of getting to work in professional sports and working with businesses to help simultaneously grow their brand as well as the Memphis Grizzlies. Michael is another reason that we are #LauderdaleProud!
