STEM students learned about light and color with their Optics kits. Students followed instructions and built experiments using light sources with prisms, lens, and mirrors. They learned about careers which use lasers and about laser safety.

Due to a conflict with spring sporting events, RHS has decided to offer 2 sessions for freshman orientation. One for the morning (9:00 a.m.) and another for that evening (5:30 p.m.). For any parent that can’t attend either meeting, RHS Counselors will come to the school to meet with those students to get them registered. Parents can also contact Ms. Hay at RHS to set up a meeting if they would like to discuss any concerns.

Robotics and Project Leaps used Electrical kits to build their own circuits. Students had to troubleshoot their circuits and collaborate to get their devices to work. We used ammeters and voltmeters to measure our electrical flow. Our future engineers are working hard!

RMS Tiger artists learned about Mardi Gras last week and made their own Mardi Gras masks. We would love to have new artists join art club. We meet on Tuesday from 3-4pm.

RMS Tigers had fun with 4-H in February. Students presented their topics during the local club meetings, showing they are prepared for the County 4-H Public Speaking contest. Good job and good luck at the country contest!

Congratulations!

RMS librarian, Mrs. Tidwell, presented awards and medals to the ELA teachers and their classes who achieved the highest STAR Reading growth in their grade level. Their hard work, consistency, and focus on literacy are making a powerful impact on student achievement!
What is STAR?
STAR is a computer-based reading assessment that measures students’ reading levels and monitors progress throughout the year. STAR growth reflects how much a student’s reading ability has improved between testing periods, highlighting academic progress over time.
We are proud of our teachers and students for striving for growth and excellence!
Pictured are our winning teachers: Mrs. Young, Ms. Curtis, and Mr. Wiggin, along with their classes.

2026 Track Schedule

Bus 50 will not run tomorrow, Feb. 13th, morning only.
Students from the Ripley Middle School BETA Club made history on January 23, 2026 when they were the first group to cross the newly reopened suspension bridge at Fort Pillow State Historic Park during its grand opening ceremony.
The RMS Beta Club students’ crossing symbolized both youthful leadership and community pride in local heritage. For the students, the moment was more than just a field trip. Years from now, they will be able to tell their children and grandchildren that they were part of local history as the very first students to walk across the Fort Pillow State Historic Park suspension bridge when it officially reopened. Their footsteps marked the beginning of a new chapter for the park and turned a single morning into a memory that will last a lifetime.

Parents - your students will come home sometime this week with the letter below completed during library. It contains valuable academic information. Make sure you check with them so you can stay in the loop! We appreciate you!

RMS will be accepting Valentines deliveries on Friday from 8:00 - 12:00. Due to our security check procedures, we will not be able to accept deliveries prior to 8:00, and students may not bring Valentines gifts to be delivered to other students. Thank you for your help!
