Students in Mrs. Elizabeth Jones’ room have been studying the Apollo 11 mission. Last night’s full moon allowed the perfect opportunity for students to observe the moon at home, illustrate, and write down their observations.





Students in Mrs.Lucinda’s group enjoyed painting their own pumpkins after they finished a unit on the history of jack-o-lanterns.


Students in Dr. Rogers math classes participated in Zombie Escape Room to save the teachers and students by solving multi-digit multiplication problems.

Character Counts Week ended today. They wrote on the kindness wall, wore different colors each day, and visited the photo booth. Next week is Drug Free Week, and your child received a letter explaining the different activities each day.




This week is Character Counts Week. Students can wear blue shirts to promote trustworthiness Monday!

Mrs. Elizabeth Jones' third grade class received a pizza party for being the first class to get all their AR points during the first nine weeks of school. Congratulations to these students for working so hard to get their points.

Specialty teachers at RES will be taking fall pictures Thursday and Friday. Forms and were sent home today. Students may dress out of dress code if purchasing a picture. School pictures for yearbook will be Wednesday, October 19.

Lauderdale County's annual Veterans Day parade is just around the corner!

RES is celebrating National Bullying Prevention Month during the month of October. Students and staff can wear orange tomorrow to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Please check our social media pages this month for upcoming activities.


Students at RES were sent home with a package of books and socks from Save the Children! Each book send home was an AR book, so we encourage all students to read over fall break and get a head start on AR points.


Ripley Elementary School Educational Assistants learning more about EL in order to be prepared to help our students the 2nd 9 weeks of school.


Melinda Hutcherson, Director of Special Education, attended the 2 day Arivett Law Education Legal Conference in East Tennessee. Presenters Deanna Arivett, Angel McCloud and Macey Woldt covered multiple education topics. Hutcherson is pictured with Arivett and McCloud.



RES 5th graders are celebrating Constitution week with visits from Martha Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Crispus Attucks, and Mary Shirley McGuire. Constitution Week is an American observance to commemorate the adoption of the United States Constitution.
