Lauderdale County Schools is partnering with Dyersburg State Community College to offer The Middle College of LCS, starting in Fall 2022. The mission of The Middle College of LCS is to offer a unique, rigorous pathway for students to accomplish their secondary and post-secondary goals simultaneously while in a supportive and small learning community.

Upon successful completion of the course requirements, these students will graduate with their high school diploma AND an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from DSCC. While enrolled as part of the Middle College program, students will have a combined high school and college experience allowing them to participate in traditional high school activities, including athletics, prom, sports, pre-graduation activities and commencement with their peers. As an enrolled student at DSCC, students will receive a campus student ID and are eligible to take part in DSCC student life.

The inaugural class of Middle College students, comprised of eligible HHS and RHS rising juniors, traveled to the Dyersburg State – Covington campus today to complete orientation and course registration. These students will be dually enrolled in high school and college courses throughout their junior and senior years of high school.

The Middle College of LCS will provide an incredible opportunity for students to earn college course credits at no cost to families and launch them into their collegiate future even more prepared. We look forward to the great things that this inaugural class of Middle College students will accomplish!
