Principal

Mrs. Chantay Dupree received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Management) in August of 1990 from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Certification to teach 1st-8th grades in May 1999 from the University of Memphis, a Master of Education Degree (Educational Leadership) in August 2003 from Trevecca Nazarene University, and an Administrator License in August 2011. Mrs. Dupree taught 5th grade at Ripley Elementary School from 1999 to 2002. From 2002 to 2012 she served at Dyersburg Middle School as a teacher in the Success Maker Program (2 years) as well as a 7th grade Language Arts teacher (8 years). She has served as Assistant Principal at Ripley Middle since 2012 and LEAPs PM Site Coordinator since 2015. She is also a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Mrs. Kamala Armour has over 25 years of experience teaching in the Lauderdale County School System. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from University of Tennessee at Martin in December of 1999, a Masters of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Bethel University in 2015, and Special Education from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2022. 

Mrs. Armour began teaching at Ripley Elementary School in 2000. She taught general education from 2000-2022 with 15 of those years dedicated to teaching 5th grade ELA/Writing. In 2022, while still at Ripley Elementary School, she transitioned into the role of a special education/intervention teacher. In 2024-2025, she transferred to Halls Junior High as a special education/Intervention teacher for 7th & 8th grade students. Mrs. Armour is currently serving as Assistant Principal at Ripley Primary School. She is passionate about reading and writing and committed to attributing to those fundamental skills that lead to overall student development.  Mrs. Armour is dedicated to fostering strong partnerships with families and the community to assure success for all students.

Mrs. Andrea Baynes is currently serving as Curriculum Coordinator for Ripley Primary School. She is a passionate educator with over 25 years of experience in the field of education. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin (1999) and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Bethel University (2015).

Mrs. Baynes began her teaching career as a fifth-grade teacher at Ripley Elementary School, where she taught from 1999 to 2018. In 2018, she transitioned to serve as the Instructional Facilitator at East Side Elementary School in Haywood County, a role she held until 2025. Currently, she is serving as the Curriculum Coordinator at Ripley Primary School, where she continues her work in supporting teachers and enhancing the educational experience for students.

With a strong commitment to academic excellence, Mrs. Baynes strives to create an engaging, positive, and effective learning environment for all students.
