Ms. Kamisha Dixon

Principal

Ms Dixon is a graduate of Ripley High School and spent 10 years of her career as a teacher and cheer coach at Ripley Middle School. Ms. Dixon has served as an Assistant Principal at Ripley High School from 2021-2023. In this capacity, Ms. Dixon has supervised campus operations and student discipline, led instructional programming to ensure high standards of instruction and student achievement, expanded RHS' social media and communication channels, and fostered collegiality among staff. Ms. Dixon was selected as principal of RHS in 2023. Ms. Dixon's knowledge of Ripley High School's operations, along with her solid understanding of effective instructional practices, will serve Ripley High School well.

Ms. Dixon holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health and Human Performance from The University of Memphis, a Masters degree in Education from the University of Phoenix, and an Education Specialist degree from Lipscomb University.  Ms. Dixon is a product of the district’s leadership development partnership with Lipscomb University, a grant program aimed at growing local, aspiring administrators into qualified and viable administrative candidates. Ms. Dixon is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree in Leadership and Policy Studies from Lipscomb University.

Dr. Heather Comer

Assistant Principal

Dr. Heather Comer is an Assistant Principal at Ripley High School. She is a graduate of Covington High School and has served as an English-Language Arts and Mathematics classroom teacher for 25 years. During her classroom tenure, she has earned recognition for making a strong impact on student outcomes and for being a model of exemplary teaching.

Dr. Comer has served in various leadership roles including grade-level and department chair. In this capacity, she led data and professional learning meetings to improve student outcomes. She has also served as teacher mentor and Advisor for National Junior Honor Society. Dr. Comer’s experience will lend itself to Ripley High School’s mission of providing high quality instruction and student achievement.  

At RHS, Dr. Comer is the building testing coordinator, the curriculum coordinator, and PLC coordinator. She also keeps our social media and website updated.

Dr. Comer holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Education from Middle Tennessee State University and Master of Education degree from Cumberland University. She received both her Education Specialist and Doctor of Education degrees from Union University.

Mr. LaFrance

Assistant Principal

Mr. Michael LaFrance has been selected as an Assistant Principal at Ripley High School. He  is a graduate of Freedom High School in Freedom, PA. After finishing high school Mr. LaFrance enlisted in the United States Navy.  In the Navy  he served as a flight line coordinator and a shop lead as a navy contractor.

Mr. LaFrance has served as a physical education and physical science teacher in Meridian, MS and Frayser Community School in Memphis, TN. He most recently served as a world history teacher at Brighton High School. He has also served as a head football coach and a head track coach. During his classroom tenure, he has been praised  for making a strong impact on student outcomes and for building relationships.  

 Mr. LaFrance has served in various leadership roles throughout his education, coaching, and military career and his experience will lend itself to Ripley High School’s mission of providing high quality instruction and student achievement. 

Mr. Lafrance holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology and  Master of Education degree in Secondary Education from Mississippi State University. He received his Education Specialist Degree from Arkansas State University.
