Mrs. Amy Morgan

Mrs. Morgan has served as an educator in the public school system for the past 28 years.  For the last 8 years, she served as Assistant Principal of Dyersburg Primary School.  In the first 20 years of her career, Mrs. Morgan served as a high school teacher and taught various science courses including Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, and Biology. In addition, Mrs. Morgan taught ACT Prep and was the chairperson of the School Improvement Committee and Coordinator of Student Activities.

Mrs. Morgan received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1991 and her Master of Educational Leadership degree in 2002 from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Assistant Principal

Mr. Jimmy Clendenin

Mr. Clendenin has worked for the Lauderdale County school system for 18 years as a teacher, head baseball and golf coach, assistant boys and girls' basketball coach, and an administrator. His educational background includes a Bachelor's of Science degree in secondary education from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master's Degree in educational leadership from Trevecca Nazarene. In addition, he has been married to his wife Hope for 28 years. Together, they have a son named Colin and a grandson named Joseph Levi.

Mr. Corry Essary

Mr. Essary comes to HHS with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from UT Martin, a Master of Arts degree in Education from Union University, and Instructional Leadership Licensure from Bethel University. His nine years of teaching experience include history, business education, personal finance and marketing. He has been a head coach in baseball and cross country, and an assistant football coach.

On a personal note, Mr. Essary is married with two children, Poston and Davis. His wife, Eva, is also a UTM graduate and educator.

Mr. Essary will be joining the administrative staff and will assume responsibilities in the areas of athletics, school support organizations, curriculum and student support.
