Students worked to created a 23 page document detailing their business that was submitted to DECA approval. Tiger Town Concessions will be recognized during DECA’s Virtual International Career Development Conference in April of this year. On December 8, the Lauderdale County Board of Education discussed the school operating calendar and voted to keep the staggered, odd/even schedule through the month of January. The Tennessee Department of Human Services announced financial assistance is available for families who qualify for free or reduced school lunches, through the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program. Parents who already receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits currently, do not need to apply. The funds began arriving on the EBT card they already use beginning June 12. Parents who do not receive SNAP benefits, but whose children do qualify for free or reduced school meals, will need to apply for P- EBT online https://tdhs.service-now.com/. The application period has been extended through July 13, 2020. Individuals who need assistance completing their P-EBT application or have general questions about the program are encouraged to call the TDHS hotline at 1-833-496-0661 and select option 3.

We want to say a huge Congratulations to Coach Moore’s State Wide Dual Credit Pre-Calculus Class. All seventeen students passed their challenge exam! The challenge exam is a comprehensive test that tests students’ knowledge of higher level advanced algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Students that pass earn 3 hours college math credit. The state average pass rate is approximately 22% and with the hard work of Mrs. Moore and her students HHS has a 100% pass rate!! Great job!!

Lauderdale AWARE hosted their biannual Culture and Compassion Retreat this weekend at Lakeshore Camp in Eva, TN. Students from both Ripley and Halls discussed how to overcome prejudice, stereotypes, discrimination, and negative labels through showing compassion, vulnerability, and establishing genuine relationships. Lauderdale County students described the experience as transformational and healing.

Basketball Game Schedule Change - Due to the prediction of inclement weather for the Dresden area Friday night, the basketball game will be held on Thursday, January 10, at 6:00 p.m. at Dresden High School.
The FBLA Coffee Shop will open in the gym lobby Friday, December 7, 7:15 a.m. The cost will be $1.50/cup

HHS and RHS AWARE students represented us well as presenters at the International Bullying Prevention Conference in San Diego, CA. Their message of the importance of student voice and empathy for all is now heard around the world. So proud of our students and the opportunities that have been given to them as a result of their hard work.

Any student who plans on getting a flu shot at school must turn in a consent form no later than Friday, October 5th. Students should have gotten consent forms from their 1st block teachers.
Attention: ACT, Inc. has decided to cancel the October 2nd date for the senior re-take. Instead HHS will be participating in the ACT senior re-take on Tuesday, October 30th.
