In 1993, the Tennessee General Assembly passed legislation granting local education agencies the authority to establish Family Resources Centers (FRC) to provide interventions and establish a collaborative partnership with members of the community. Each Family Resource Center has a unified mission: to assist families through information and training, and to help families learn to resolve problems through the collaborative efforts of many disciplines within the community. More information concerning Family Resource Centers across the state may be found on the Tennessee Department of Education’s website.
The Family Resource Center is a family support service center, under the supervision and funding of the Lauderdale County Department of Education and TN Department of Education. The focus of our FRC is families with minor children in our school system and a referral source for all families who have needs or concerns.
To provide a central place for families to get help by “connecting the links” between services. This increases the potential for success of parents and children by providing services through a variety of interventions.
We pledge to support and strengthen all families with children of Lauderdale County without regard to race, creed, color, religion, sex, or disability. We believe each family deserves to know all the services and support systems available to them, to help provide the best care for themselves and their children.
