On January 10, the RMS administrative team met with each grade level class to provide announcements and updates for the Spring 2019 semester.

Common Assessment proficiency levels were discussed for each subject. Overall, improvement was seen in multiple subject areas. Each grade level group was tasked with an area to improve upon. Improvement strategies were discussed such as asking appropriate questions, taking thorough notes, and completing assignments.

Rewards will be given for Common Assessment achievement and growth. Students who were On Track/Mastery OR who showed improvement in at least three subject areas will be given a dress code pass for Friday, January 18. Students who were On Track/Mastery OR who showed improvement in all four subject areas will be given a dress code pass and will be able to attend a reward party on the afternoon of January 18.

Students were also reminded of R.O.A.R. expectations. All students are able to earn R.O.A.R. tickets for exhibiting positive behaviors in responsibility, optimism, accountability, and respect. A weekly drawing occurs that allows for students to earn rewards such as dress code passes and snacks. At the end of each nine weeks, all students who have not had any disciplinary referrals are able to attend the school-wide reward party. A school-wide R.O.A.R. field trip will occur in May for students who have not had any disciplinary referrals for the school year.

Students were also informed of end-of-year grade level field trips. RMS administration will plan these to celebrate the end of a successful year for all students. Expectations for these field trips include:

  • no more than five (5) days of In School Suspension (ISS)
  • No assigned days of Out of School Suspension (OSS)
  • No assigned days to Alternative School

RMS administration, faculty, and staff look forward to a great semester!
