Lauderdale Co Students attend International Bullying Conference

Lauderdale County students were given the honor of presenting at the International Bullying Prevention Association Conference in San Diego, California. These students were selected for this based on work they have done in their own schools. Lauderdale County is on of three Tennessee counties who were awarded the AWARE grant by the Tennessee Department of Education. Through AWARE Lauderdale County schools have worked with STARS Nashville to incorporate practices of MOVE2STAND into daily loves at both Ripley and Halls High School. Students from both schools have worked with MOVE2STAND over the last two years to provide training to not only students in Lauderdale County Schools, but schools in other counties.

These students and sponsers traveled to San Diego for the conference. The students worked with Eric Johson, Vice President of MOVE2STAND to prepare for their presentations. In addition to presenting at the conference, the students were given the oppotunity to visit Los Angeles, Hollywood, and La Jolla Cove. We would like to thank the Lauderdale County Bank, Bank of Halls, and Hurt Seed Company for donating the additional funds to allow students to experience and explore the San Diego area.
