VIRTUAL/DISTANCE LEARNING UPDATE & REGISTRATION REMINDER

Careful planning and consideration has been taken in preparing for the re-opening of local schools. Lauderdale County Schools is working diligently on providing a safe return for staff and students for the upcoming school year.  You can find more information in the district’s Framework for School Re-Entry at https://5il.co/hm4f along with other school reopening information at https://5il.co/hm8v.

In addition to the Re-Entry Framework, the district is in the process of building a robust and comprehensive Continuous Learning Plan.  This virtual/distance learning program, which is still under development, includes a large commitment for the purchase of new student technology devices.  It also includes a large investment for online curriculum resources which are aligned to the current classroom materials purchased by schools in recent years.  The district’s plan also allows for the training of teachers and students on the new virtual learning platforms.  The effort to create a virtual/distance learning environment for our schools is in preparation for any extended school closures or for students who may be unable to attend school in person.

More information and other exciting announcements regarding the district’s offering of a virtual/distance learning program for students is coming later in July.

As a reminder, Lauderdale County Schools will have drive-through registration on Monday, July 13th, from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm and Tuesday, July 14th, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at each school.
